One of the biggest challenges for teachers who want to give students experiential learning opportunities in their watershed is collecting (and paying for) the materials that are needed to actually work in the watershed and along waterways.
UWP created two trunks for teachers to borrow as they teach students about the upper Uncompahgre River Watershed. Reserve the trunk (s) by clicking on the link on UWP’s website.
Watershed Education Materials Trunk Contents
In each trunk are the following materials and supplies for students to use while working in small groups. Gather materials for use according to the individual lesson plan requirements. Other, specific materials may be required for some lessons and they are generally available from school chemistry departments.
