The Uncompahgre Watershed Partnership is focused on improving water quality in our river, streams, lakes and other water sources. As part of these efforts, we monitor water quality. Colorado River Watch is a statewide volunteer water quality-monitoring program operated by the Colorado Watershed Assembly in cooperation with the Colorado Division of Wildlife. See UWP’s River Watch page for more information.
How’s My Waterwaywas designed by the U.S. EPA to provide the general public with information about the condition of their local waters based on data that states, federal, tribal, local agencies and others have provided to EPA. Water quality information is displayed on 3 scales in How’s My Waterway; community, state and national. More recent or more detailed water information may exist that is not yet available through EPA databases or other sources.
Colorado Abandoned Mine Land Water Quality Information: The Upper Uncompahgre River Watershed has a large number of inactive mines on public land, many of which impact water quality. The state of Colorado monitors these mines periodically and has created a map with water quality information.
