Planting Pines at Top of the Pines

Yesterday we had a great time planting pines at the Top of the Pines open space preserve and retreat.  Last year the area lost some trees to an infestation which needed to be removed.  This year Uncompahgre Watershed Partnership worked with Ron Mabry Ouray  County’s Weed Manager to reforest the area by planting Douglas Fir and Ponderosa Pine.

Five fabulous volunteers showed up to help us out.  Everyone involved had a lot of fun and we planted FOUR HUNDRED pines in the process!  Go team!
