The UWP wants to thank everyone who came to participate in our June Hike! It’s always great to see a good turn out.
Make sure you mark your calendars for our July hike where we partner with the Black Canyon Regional Trust to trek the Weehawken Trail! The 6.6 mile (round trip) trek will give hikers a view of our spectacular high mountain habitat in full summer foliage.
This hike is steep, however much of the elevation gain, an overall 1,000 feet, happen during the first mile. Make sure you wear good hiking boots and bring plenty of water. For this special hike, bring a bag lunch for a picnic at the 3 mile marker.
Please meet and park at the Ouray Visitor’s Center on Main Street in Ouray. We will then carpool to the trail head off of Camp Bird Road.
