Join UWP and the Ouray Ice Park in beautifying and maintaining the watershed around the Uncompahgre River Gorge. This volunteer event starts with three hours of work around the park and gorge, and ends with lunch, giveaways, and a tour of the park.
In 2024, we will be removing litter from inside the gorge and along the roads and trails, spreading wood chips on trails, installing weed information kiosks, and planting a couple trees. Volunteers will also learn and give input on the South Ouray Erosion Control Project.
Special thanks to the City of Ouray and Ouray Grocery for supporting this event with donations.
Volunteers working in the gorge will be required to wear helmets. All volunteers are advised to bring: proper hiking or work boots, work gloves, sunscreen, clothing layers, rain gear, water bottles, and sunglasses and/or hats.
