Rocky Mountain Mining & Reclamation Conference

Formerly known as the San Juan Mining and Reclamation Conference, the roots of this event will always exist in the San Juan Mountains. However, the history of mining in Colorado extends throughout the Rockies. Therefore, we are excited to expand the geographic reach of our conference and our name. We are now called the Rocky Mountain Mining and Reclamation Conference.


LOCATION: Leadville, CO

DATE: May 22-24, 2024

THEME: Elevating Our Impact

PRICE: $295.


  • Weds May 22, evening: Keynote, meet and greet, and poster session at Tabor Opera House

  • Thurs May 23, 8:00am-4:00pm: Conference technical talks at Colorado Mountain College (breakfast + lunch included on site)

  • Thurs May 23, evening: Reception and dinner at Freight

  • Fri May 24, times will vary: Field trips in the Leadville region (+ box lunch)

DETAILS: The event will be hosted at a variety of iconic Leadville locations, featuring speakers from the Rocky Mountain region.

TOURS: There are five tours planned for Friday, May 24th. Note that tours may be added as opportunities arise.

  2. Climax Mine and Irish Miners’ Memorial

  3. National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum plus Tabor Opera House

  4. Mineral Belt Trail and EPA Superfund Sites

  5. Yak Water Treatment Plant and Black Cloud & Irene Mines
