Every 2nd Saturday of the month, the UWP invites you to hike around with our staff and board members. This Saturday, August 10th, the UWP is leading a hike on the Silver Shield Trail. The hike will be 4.6 miles total with an altitude gain of 1,680 feet. The start of this trail is steep for about 0.3 miles but hikers will be able to view numerous old mines across the valley, Ouray, the Uncompahgre Gorge, and Cañon Creek. Please meet us at the Ouray Visitor’s Center at 10am with your good boots and plenty of water. Check the UWP website for cancellations or postponements.
