This weekend the UWP lead hikers up the Silvershield Trail for a total of 5miles, and there were so many things to see! While the first mile of the trek is steep, hikers are rewarded at .3 miles with an interpretive area and spectacular view of Goldhill across the valley.
Later on up the trail we also were able to view an abandoned cabin, beautiful woods and at the 2.5 mile we found a spectacular view of the Uncompahgre Gorge and the Camp Bird Road. Behind us we could see Twin Peaks and some clouds coming over the mountain, so it was time to go.
Thank you to everyone who showed up for our outing. We had a great time chatting and hiking. I look forward to seeing faces new and old at our next outing September 14th when we hike the Grey Copper Trail.
